Chris Poreda most recently served as the Regional Counsel for the Federal Aviation Administration’s New England Region, prior to his retirement in June 2015 after 25 years with the agency. As Regional Counsel, he was responsible for overseeing a staff of attorneys and paralegals that addressed a wide range of issues including regulatory enforcement and interpretation, airport grant questions, noise litigation, federal contracts issues and aircraft certification – including certifications for unmanned aircraft systems.
Before launching his legal career, Chris started his aviation career in the U.S. Air Force, graduating from the Air Force Academy and serving as a pilot of F-4 Phantom aircraft in Europe. He was also an Air Force flight instructor.
Chris earned his law degree from Northeastern University School of Law in Boston. He is co-author on the Annotated Guide to Massachusetts Evidence, a treatise of evidence law for Massachusetts, and has served as an adjunct professor in Aviation Law at New England Law Boston. He is currently an active flight instructor in the Boston area and is affiliated with the Law Offices of Paul A. Lange in Stratford, Connecticut as Of Counsel.
